A great ride to end a great trip filled with a variety of fish. The river is drawn down very low, and as a result many fish are held up at the falls below the swinging bridge, making for the fishing that we should have had in April for. It is spring after all. We went out a week or two after the stock. A few largemouth survived angling pressure on this creek. Were hoping there's more Wahoo to be had and going to start at it first thing tomorrow morning in the same spot. Lock Side of Guntersville Dam has slower water than the Generator side. The water is getting really shallow behind the flooded brush but still holds fly biting grass carp. Large freshwater drum are always fun too. Lake fishing IS different but should not be overlooked for a chance to get away for a half day without driving for hours. Rather than eat my sack lunch while driving as I typically do, I decided to stop by Busch Wildlife Area and eat while walking the .7 mile Fallen Oak Trail behind the visitor center.
