For the Acid Test at San Francisco State, the Pranksters set up in the gym while Kesey sat in the broadcast booth of the college radio station and taunted the authorities. A natural athlete, Carolyn tried out for girls basketball but ran into trouble with her gym teacher who, she says, "was not my admirer. She craved acceptance but couldn't seem to fit in.
